A gem from the Sierra Sur of Oaxaca. Located in the town of San Pedro El Alto this coffee is produced by Roberto Juarez Perez on his 3 hectare farm Rancho El Aguacate. It is grown at 2034 masl which is incredibly high for Mexico and it definitely shows in the bean density and overall sweetness in the cup.  The coffee is a Plumas varietal named after the town of Plumas Hidalgo just to the north and it was discovered back in the 1950's as a local offshoot to the Typica varietal that is heavily planted in Mexico. It is widely considered a native heirloom type and is almost exclusively found in the state of Oaxaca.
